I’m happy to announce that Professor Spehar-Fahey and I will be offering Imagining Venice again in Spring 2018! ART/COMM 285 fulfills the Participatory Art requirement for CORE 21 and will be offered Tuesdays & Thursdays 12:25-2:05 p.m. You can take the course for either Art or Communication units — take ART 285 for the former or COMM 285 for the latter.
If you’re interested in attending the class in Spring 2018 and traveling to Italy with us in Summer 2018, we have tentatively set up information meetings on campus for Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017 @ 4 p.m., and Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017 @ 11:40 a.m. Of course you are also welcome to contact either Professor Spehar-Fahey or me, or to talk to Study Abroad about the course. This will be our third time taking students to Venice, and you know what they say — third time’s the charm!
The travel portion of the class is tentatively scheduled for Monday, May 14 (depart for Italy) to Wednesday, May 30 (leave Italy — or continue traveling on your own, if you prefer). Commencement is Saturday, May 12, so you’d be leaving the Monday after. Students will be required to handle all their own flight scheduling and payments — that way you can easily apply any frequent flyer miles you or your family may have and can choose to travel on your own in Europe after May 30, if you so desire. Needless to say, you’ll need a passport, so if you don’t have one yet, start looking into it now!
Please see the Itinerary link above for a tentative itinerary in Italy. We’ll be locking down dates and places more firmly over the next few months, but the final itinerary should look pretty close to the one we’ve posted.
We’re very excited about getting back to Italy again — I hope you’ll be able to come with us!
